DESCRIPTION
Victron Energy CCH012050000
The Victron Centaur Charger 12/50 (CCH012050000) is designed to provide reliable charging for your battery systems. This charger features advanced technology to ensure maximum efficiency and performance, making it perfect for various battery types. Its robust construction and intelligent charging capabilities make it suitable for use in challenging environments, ensuring your systems are always powered and ready for use.
Product Features
Durable Construction
The Victron Centaur Charger comes with aluminium epoxy powder coated cases that are equipped with a drip shield. This design, along with stainless steel fixings, allows the charger to withstand extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, and salt air, ensuring a long-lasting performance.
Corrosion Resistance
All circuit boards within the charger are protected with an acrylic coating, which significantly enhances their resistance to corrosion. This feature is particularly beneficial for maintaining reliability in adverse environmental conditions, making sure the charger operates smoothly over time.
Smart Temperature Monitoring
Integrated temperature sensors play a crucial role in ensuring the power components operate within defined parameters. In the event of extreme environmental conditions, the charger can automatically reduce the output current to prevent damage, ensuring continued functionality.
Flexible Input Voltage Range
Designed for versatility, the Centaur Charger operates efficiently across a wide input voltage range of 90 to 265 Volt and accepts a DC supply from 90 to 400V. This flexibility makes it ideal for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz applications without the need for manual adjustments.
Isolated Charging Outputs
This model features three isolated outputs, allowing you to charge three battery banks simultaneously. Each output is capable of delivering the full rated current, which is essential for maintaining optimal performance across connected battery systems.
How It Works
The Victron Centaur Charger operates using advanced three-stage charging technology, which ensures efficient energy transfer and battery management. It begins charging at a bulk rate, transitioning automatically to the appropriate phase as needed to maintain battery health.
Charging Phases
Initially, the charger operates in bulk charging mode, which continues until the output reduces to 70% of the rated Amps. A built-in timer then initiates a float charging phase after the bulk phase, helping to maintain the batteries at optimal levels.
Temperature Compensation
For enhanced efficiency, the charger employs an internal temperature sensor that compensates the charge voltage, applying a reduction of ‘”2 mV/A‚ºC (‘”1 mV/A‚ºF) per cell. This feature ensures that the batteries are charged correctly based on their temperature conditions.
Easy Voltage Selection
A dip switch allows users to select the optimum charge and float voltages suitable for various battery types including Flooded Lead-acid, Gel, or AGM batteries. This adjustability ensures compatibility with different battery technologies and optimization for performance.
